Toyota Kirloskar Motor Resumes Production!

Toyota is observing strict safety measures inside the plants and in the premises

Toyota has restarted the production in its Bangalore facilities, following the easing of lockdown in the country. Production has resumed in a phased manner in the Bidadi facilities from May 26, 2020. The carmaker has been monitoring the situation closely for long and is continuing to do the same even with the production in place.

Toyota had earlier restarted the operations of many of their dealerships and service outlets on a graded scale. The carmaker has taken immense care in ensuring safety and hygiene in its plants, premises, and dealer and service outlets as well. Toyota has issued a detailed restart manual in all of its facilities and outlets, detailing the various changes required for coping up with the ‘new normal’. Successful implementation of this is being ensured at all times. A great share of the workforce is still working from their homes.

Toyota has two plants in Bidadi, Bangalore. Established in 1997, the first plant manufactures the Innova and the Fortuner while the second plant, having started its operations in 2010, manufactures the Yaris and Camry Hybrid. All of Toyota’s current models except the Vellfire are produced in Bangalore. The Vellfire comes in via the CBU route.
