Volkswagen Tiguan is the flagship SUV of the German carmaker in India. The new update makes the Tiguan Rs. 49,000 costlier than before
The latest Tiguan comes with an RDE-compliant 2.0L TSI engine
It also gets a dual-tone interior, which makes the Tiguan more premium-looking
The formerly-all-black cabin now comes in a grey and white combination
A wireless smartphone charger has also been added to the feature list
Seat-belt reminder for all seats, 6 airbags, hill-start assist, HDC and three-point seat belts, adjustable head restraints for all seats, etc. comes as safety feature additions
The Tiguan also gets VW's Park Assist system, which enables the car to parallel park in an empty space by itself
This feature is not fully automatic, as the accelerator and brake has to be controlled by the driver
The 2.0L TSI engine is now BS6 phase 2 compliant. It's mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, producing 190 hp and 320 Nm
The updated engine gets better fuel efficiency of 13.54 kpl (ARAI-certified).
The main rivals of the Volkswagen Tiguan are the Hyundai Tuscon, Citroen C5 Aircross and Jeep Compass
