Tata Punch EV Spotted Testing In Public For The First Time

Tata Motors is bringing in more electric car models into the market like no other carmakers - either new or based on existing models

Now they have spotted testing the electric version of the Punch micro SUV, for the first time in public.

The Punch EV was spotted sitting on a flatbed in full camouflage

The camo on the test mule makes it hard to notice any cosmetic updates on the car. Tata is expected to apply plenty of blue accents and aero wheels on the Punch EV. The charging port will replace the fuel tank lid.

The EV mule has rear disc brakes, whereas the petrol Punch gets drum brakes

Inside the cabin, a rotary dial and electronic parking brake can be seen. Features like wireless charging and auto hold are also expected

The dashboard looks the same though, housing the Harman 7-inch infotainment touchscreen

The model will also support Android Auto and Apple Carplay, automatic climate control, premium upholstery with a flat-bottom steering wheel

There's no confirmations on the powertrain of the Punch EV yet. But it is expected to share the powertrain of the Tiago EV

This will offer the Punch 74 hp and 114 Nm with at least two driving modes - City and Sport. The 24 kWh battery pack will promise a claimed range of 300+ km on a single charge

The Punch EV will rival the Citroen E-C3, which is priced between Rs. 11.50 lakh and Rs. 12.43 lakh(ex-showroom) Tata could launch the Punch EV at the end of this year or the first half of 2024
