A panel appointed by the central government has come forward with a suggestion of banning diesel vehicles in India by 2027
The Energy Transition Panel suggests that only the ban of the diesel vehicles could help us reduce carbon emission
The panel also comes up with a suggestion of switching to either gas-fueled vehicles or EVs
80% of the transport sector of the country uses diesel powered vehicles
According to the panel, diesel buses used for city transports should not be added from 2024 onwards
They also suggests that by 2030, all city buses should be electric
The new scrappage policy states that all diesel vehicles must undergo fitness test to renew registration
National Green Tribunal (NGT) has put a ban on diesel cars in Delhi that are more than 10 years old
