The New Toyota Crown Sedan Is A Looker!

Just For Japan

The crown lineup continues to expand...

A new RWD sedan based on the Toyota Crown has been announced for Japan.

Though it wouldn't make it to markets like the US, this sedan is indeed a looker!

The car is being referred to as the 'sedan type'. It resembles the Mirai in exterior design.

The Crown sedan is larger than Mirai. It stays true to the 'Crown' legacy of being large and roomy.

The 16th generation sedan is more swoopy-looking than previous Crown models.

On the inside, the new Crown feels plush and roomy. The dashboard gets a premium wood-grain panel that runs along the width of the car.

It comes with a 64-colour ambient lighting that's neatly incorporated into the cabin.

Other attractions inside the cabin include plenty of rear room, power rear sunshades, adaptive suspension and more.

New Toyota Crown sedan offers the choice of two powertrains:  a 2.5L hybrid petrol and a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain.

The Hydrogen fuel powertrain comes straight from the Mirai, but with a longer range of 509 miles.

Toyota Crown sedan type commands price equivalents of $48,000 for the hybrid variants in Japan. The fuel cell version costs equivalent of $55,000.
