Ola electric scooter witnesses unprecedented customer demands
After teasing us previously with detailed video footage and a bunch of images, Ola Electric had opened bookings for their upcoming electric scooter on July 15, 2021. Interested buyers could the pre-book the Ola scooter through the manufacturer’s official website, against a payment of Rs 499.
Much as expected from the social media commotion that the teasers had triggered, Ola electric now announces that the scooter crossed 1 lakh reservations within 24 hours of the booking portal going live. This is reportedly the highest number of pre-bookings for any scooter in the world in the first 24 hours. Least scared by the unprecedented demand, Ola continues to accept bookings for their upcoming electric scooter. Ola CEO Bhavish Agarwal is optimistic about the rocketing customer demands and considers them signs of rising EV affinity.
The Ola electric scooter will pioneer a range of future -ready offerings from Ola Electric. Essentially based on the Etergo Appscooter, the Ola scooter will have an appealing design, advanced technology, desirable features like a large TFT LCD instrumentation, and class-leading boot space (you could place two half-face helmets comfortably inside it!)
No big details of the powertrain or specifications are known yet. We just know that the ola scooter would be strikingly fast and will have equally good dynamics and road manners. More of these details are hoped to be revealed in the coming days, when the official market debut shall also commence. Expected to be priced close to the 1 lakh mark, Ola scooter will face competition from Ather 450X, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak.
