Mahindra has finally declared the prices of the all new Thar and also opened bookings for the same.
Mahindra announced the prices for the all-new Thar in India, putting an end to the long waits of thousands of Indians. The base-spec petrol variant is priced at INR 9.80 lakh (ex.showroom). The range-topping diesel automatic bears a tag of 13.75 lakh. The credits of this wide-stretched pricing go to the fact that the all-new Thar is available in two different trims-AX and LX. The AX is targeted at the adventure lovers and is thus a more hardcore version. The LX, however, is a more civilized iteration intended to be sought after as a lifestyle product. The vehicle also offers a choice of three roofing options as well- soft top, convertible soft top, and hardtop.
The AX trim gets steel wheels, fixed soft top, mechanical locking differential, dual airbags, roll cage, etc as standard. The LX comes with modern-day features like 18-inch alloy wheels, optable hardtop and convertible soft top, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 6-speed torque converter type automatic gearbox.
The 2020 Mahindra Thar has two powerhouses on offer- 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L diesel. There is a 6 MT and 6 AT on offer as transmissions as well. The petrol churns out 152 hp and 300Nm while the diesel is capable of producing 132 hp and 300Nm. All the variants of the new Thar get 4WD and a low ratio manual shift transfer case as standard.
Mahindra has opened the bookings for the vehicle. The deliveries are expected to begin in November. The carmaker had recently auctioned off the first unit of the Thar for a whopping INR 1.1 Crores.
