Engine-Spec And Performance
The M5 has been the most aggressive among the BMW M performance sedans, and the latest generation is no different. The 2021 BMW M5 competition has a massive M-spec Twin Turbo V8 as its powerhouse, which produces 625 hp and 750 Nm. With the least of surprise involved, this engine together with the 8 speed M Steptronic transmission can make the car sprint to three-digit speeds in just 3.3 seconds! As you might have guessed by now, all four wheels of the M5 Competition are powered.
To complement this brutal performance, the M5 Competition also gets new shock absorbers, active M differential, improved engine mounting, and a highly performance-oriented suspension. The chassis also has high degrees of rework gone into it. There are selectable drive modes, which BMW calls ‘Driving Experience Control’ and a dedicated Track mode for unleashing the entire potential of the car on a race track. Signature M adaptive suspension and M-spec Servotronic steering ensure flawless handling and body control on this mean M machine.
Exterior Design
The all-new BMW M5 Competition has an aggressive design, with BMW laser light headlamps, prominent kidney grille (which thankfully isn’t oversized!), multiple black accents, M specific detailing, 3D rear lights, Black chromed tailpipes, and performance-spec bumpers as the key highlights. 20 inch M light-alloy wheels are standard while 20 inch 810 double-spoke wheels can be had as optional extras.
