2021 Ducati Streetfighter V4 And V4 S Launched In India

2021 Ducati Streetfighter V4 and V4 S are powered by a 1103cc V4 engine!

Ducati India has launched the 2021 Streetfighter V4 and V4 S in the country at INR 19.99 lakh and 22.99 lakh respectively. The bike, that does justice to its name in every sense, is also the first ‘all new’ BS6 Ducati that goes on sale in India. (We just mean to say that all the other BS6 Ducati bikes till date have been prevailing bikes with engine updates gone into them) The manufacturer has started accepting bookings for the bike and the deliveries are known to begin as and when the lockdown ends.

Design Highlights

The Streetfighter V4 and V4 S have both been designed according to Ducati’s ‘Fight Formula’ philosophy. The Streetfighter V4 is, in essence, an aggressive-looking naked bike with a massive V4 engine! The front, Ducati says, evokes the grin of the Joker. The key highlights in the overall design are V-shaped DRLs which look like those on the Panigale and SuperSport, LED headlamp units, sharp tail section, aerodynamic ‘bi plane’ wings and a gorgeous LED tail lamp. Massive aggression reflects in every inch of this design.

The Streetfighter V4 and V4 S get high wide bar handlebar designs in place of the expected clip-ons. The footpegs have rather moderate positions, making for a more comfortable riding posture. The bike also comes with a single-sided swingarm. All these together, turn it into an absolute looker, that one wouldn’t be surprised to see it crowned the ‘Most Beautiful Bike’ at EICMA 2019.

The Ducati streetfighter range comes in two different colors- Ducati Red and Dark Stealth. The mean-looking Dark Stealth shade is available only on the Streetfighter V4 S and costs a slight premium over the Ducati Red paintjob.

Specifications: Engine, Gearbox, And Everything Mechanical!

Both the Streetfighter V4 and V4 S get the same 1103cc, Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine from the Panigale. On these naked Ducati motorcycles, this mill lets out 208 hp and 123 Nm – almost as punchy as the Panigale V4. More enthusing is the fact that a full-racing Ducati Performance exhaust would bump the output to 220 hp and 130 Nm and shave off a good 6 kilos as well. The 6-speed sequential shift gearbox has quick shifters and slip and assist clutch

Though the engine and transmission remain the same on both the bikes, the Streetfighter V4 S has noteworthy upper hand over the V4 in terms of the other key mechanicals. The V4 gets fully adjustable 43mm Showa Big Piston Forks (BPF), Sachs steering damper and Brembo radial caliper mountings. The rear gets a fully adjustable Sachs shock absorber, one side of which is linked to the engine via a forged Aluminium bracket.

The V4 S on the other hand is more feature-loaded. It gets an Ohlins 43mm NX-30 front fork, Ohlins TTX36 rear shock and an Ohlins event-based steering damper. A Smart EC 2.0 unit from Ohlins controls the suspensions and the steering damper. It also has OBTi (Objective Based Tuning interface) on offer. The result, on the V4 S, changing the riding modes brings out changes in the suspension as well!

Both the bikes get 330 mm disc brakes at the front and 245 mm discs at the rear.

Features And Equipment

The 2021 Streetfighter V4 gets much in terms of kit and electronics, like an all-digital 5 inch TFT high-res instrument cluster, optional Ducati Multimedia system (DMS), three different ride modes, full ride-by-wire tech etc. There are also things like ABS Cornering EVO, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, Ducati Slide Control (DSC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati
Power Launch (DPL), Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS) EVO 2, Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO, and Ducati Electronic Suspension (DES) EVO on offer on the Streetfighter twins.
