The Honda ADV 150 proves that it is not just the adventure bikes alone to look for anymore if you wish to go offroading!
The automobile headlines from the US hint at Honda bringing in the ADV 150 to the shores soon. The Honda ADV 150, a true adventure scooter by genes, is currently available in markets abroad. However, a recent document from California Air Resources Board made available online, shows the ADV 150 being listed as a 2021 model for the US. Here is all we know about this so far.
The Honda ADV 150 had made its global premiere at the 2019 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). The offroad scooter packs an aggressive design that takes serious inspiration from the larger ADV X 745. One could even call it a Honda ADV X gone pocket size! The scooter gets interesting looking dual LED headlamps and a two stage adjustable windscreen completing its adventure-loving persona.
The ADV 150, as evident from the name, gets a 149cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, FI heart that churns out around 14.3 hp and 13.8 Nm. Peak power would come at 8500 rpm. A tapered handlebar and an optimized frame ensure that the handling is absolutely nimble and rider-friendly at all times.
Despite having adventure genes, the Honda ADV 150 does not lack on the practicality front. There is on offer, every bit of equipment you would expect to find on a daily riding scooter, the under-seat storage amounting to around 27 litres, SmartKey system, digital instrument cluster, and the smartphone charging unit to quote a few examples…The kerb weight tips the scale at under 300 pounds. Disc brakes provide stopping power to the inch front wheels and the 13 inchers at the rear.
Even though the GIIAS bike had a set of ‘tough’ colours on offer, it is said that the ADV 150 would get just the Matte black metallic shade in the US. The vehicle will hit the markets in June 2020 and would be priced around $4299 USD.
