Existing Nexon EV owners would benefit from an upcoming software update
Tata Nexon EV is currently the best-selling electric vehicle in the country. The manufacturer has now revamped the EV, giving it more features and a new name. The standard Nexon electric with the 30.2 kWh battery pack would now be called the Nexon EV Prime. The SUV now gets a number of features from the recently launched Nexon EV Max.
Existing Nexon EV owners would be able to avail the benefits of the updated version, via a software update. This first-of-its-kind software update would be delivered free of cost via Tata Motors dealerships, starting 25th July.
Talking of the prices, Tata Nexon EV Prime starts at Rs 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom), implying a premium of around Rs 45,000 over its predecessor. The price increase varies across variants.

Tata Nexon EV Prime: Feature Additions
The Nexon EV Prime gets a number of features from the long-range EV Max. The most noteworthy of these would be the selectable regen offering four levels to choose from. The brake lamps would function when the regen is in action. Plus, the vehicle also gets cruise control, smartwatch connectivity, and an indirect tyre pressure monitoring system.
The software update would make these functions available on the existing Nexon EVs.Tata Motors dealerships would install the hardware and switchgear required for cruise control and regen selection functions while implementing the update. These hardware and their installation would, however, be chargeable.
Tata Motors has also announced that future software updates for the Nexon EV would have to be paid for.
The mechanicals of Nexon EV Prime remain unchanged from those of the standard EV. It continues to be powered by the 129hp electric motor paired to the familiar 30.2 kWh battery pack. The electric SUV claims a range of 312 km.

Tata Nexon EV MAX Prices Shooting Up!
Tata Motors has announced a significant price hike on the recently launched Nexon EV Max. Launched in May this year, the EV Max is an extended-range version of the electric SUV with a 40.5 kWh battery pack and a range of up to 437 km. The Nexon EV Max prices have now gone up by up to Rs 60,000. It is now priced in the 18.34-19.84 lakh bracket.
