2022 Yamaha MT15 Could Get USD Forks And Other Minor Updates!

Expect the updated MT15 to launch soon!

Yamaha will soon give the MT15 a key update in the country. The updated motorcycle will get a host of new features and a few cosmetic tweaks. One of the major additions would be the Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, that had recently been incorporated into the R15 as well. Similar units also come on the FZS and FZ-X, and thus it is totally logical to expect on the MT15 as well.

The screen will display indicators for the traction control, gear position, gear shift timing, lap time, average mileage, speed, and even coolant temperature. It will pair seemlessly with the Yamaha Y Connect app, further facilitating call, email & SMS notifications.

Also expected are USD forks in place of the telescopic front forks of the outgoing motorcycle. A dual channel ABS might also replace the current single channel unit. Except for these, there would be no mechanical changes on the new motorcycle. It will have the same R15 V4-borrowed 155cc, liquid-cooled, SOHC, 4-valve engine, capable of generating 18.5 ps of max power at 10,000 RPM and 13.9 Nm of peak torque at 8,500 rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The R15-based motorcycle will get a significant hike in its customer appeal with the update rolling out. Needless to say, the there will be decent a price hike as well.
