2023 Hyundai Verna Teased In Images | Exciting Design?

The design of the new-gen Verna could draw a lot from the global Elantra and Sonata

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has released the first official teasers of 2023 Verna. This updated version of the midsize sedan is set to hit the market soon and is now available for pre-order at dealerships and online, for an initial token amount of Rs. 25,000. Hyundai has also begun the production of this car in India. The manufacturer has gone beyond cosmetic changes with this model, and would also be debuting a new engine.

2023 Hyundai Verna: Expected Powertrain

Hyundai would offer the new Verna with a new 1.5-litre turbo GDI turbocharged petrol engine, which will replace the existing 1.0 TGDi turbo petrol engine that produces 120 PS and 172 Nm. The new Verna is expected to deliver better performance with its expected outputs of around 160 PS and 253 Nm, and could come mated to either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The new turbo engine should pitch it the right way against VW Virtus and Skoda Slavia. Alongside this, the familiar 1.5-litre four-cylinder MPi naturally-aspirated petrol engine will also available, producing 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of torque. There will be no diesel engine on offer.

2023 Hyundai Verna Design: What To Expect?

2023 Hyundai Verna would have a very exciting design that draws inspiration from the global Elantra and Sonata. It would be based on Hyundai’s Sensuous Sportiness philosophy. Teaser images of the side profile show chrome window lines and a notchback-style roof with a swept spoiler at the edge of the boot. The front windshield is more raked than the outgoing model and could also feature blackened pillars. The rear would have connected LED taillights, along with a brand-new bumper design.

The new Verna is expected to feature a Tucson-like grille. Along with its bold horizontal LED strips, smart headlamp design, creases, and stylish alloy wheels, the sedan could be among the best-looking in its segment, upon launch. Furthermore, its new platform allows for larger proportions and a roomier cabin. The brand-new dashboard and centre console will look appealing and the cabin would pack more equipment. The new Verna will also come with ADAS-based driver assist and other such modern tech.
