Verna has been always a great sedan for Indian roads. It’s a good-looking, spacious, reliable car for most Indian users. The current generation Verna has been on the roads for quite some time, and it is high time that it got a makeover. The upcoming Hyundai Verna will possibly be the best answer to this. Hyundai is known to be adding more tech and features to the car.

Apart from the revised design, the new Verna will also get a new 1.5L Turbo GDi Petrol engine, instead of the outgoing 1.0L Turbo GDi. This engine will be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It is not confirmed if the India-bound variant will have the same specs as the global car. Globally, the higher variants of the Verna produce around 158hp and 250Nm. We will have to wait more to know the exact power and torque figures of the India-bound Verna. Hyundai will be retaining their 1.5L NA unit on the new car, which produces 113 hp and 144 Nm. This engine is currently used on multiple other Hyundai vehicles as well. This will come mated to a 6-speed manual or an IVT automatic transmission. The new engines will come as BS6 RDE compliant, with diesels chopped off the portfolio.
