The 5-door Gurkha will come with multiple seating configurations
The 5-door Force Gurkha is one of the most-awaited SUV launches of this year. The homegrown manufacturer has now released the first official teaser of the 5-door Gurkha. The prototype has been spotted testing multiple times in various parts of the country. The official teaser release, however, hints at an imminent market launch.
Expected Details Of 5-Door Force Gurkha
The five-door Gurkha will have larger proportions, tall pillars, and upright body panels, even when the core design DNA does justice to the 3-door’s. Unlike the 3-door Gurkha that we’re familiar with, the 5-door guise will have squarish LED headlamps. The grille and bumpers will also encompass significant design tweaks. The 5-door Gurkha will ride on 18-inch wheels.
Other notable changes would be the two extra doors, a longer wheelbase (2,825 mm), and a slightly reworked rear. The teaser image shows a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, bold squared-off fenders, snorkel, luggage rack and a Green colourway.

It is also expected to come with shift-on-fly 4WD and multiple seating configurations. Data from multiple test mule sightings suggest the probabilities of three seating configurations- 5, 6 and 7 seaters. This could help maximize its customer appeal. The cabin is also expected to pack more tech and upmarket trims than the outgoing vehicle. Expect a semi-digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment, and fin-type AC vents.
Expected Specifications Of 5-Door Gurkha
From what we know yet, no major powertrain changes are to be expected on the 5-door Gurkha. It would mostly borrow the same Mercedes-sourced diesel engine from the 3-door version. This 2.6L four-cylinder engine produces 91hp and 250Nm on the outgoing Gurkha.
Expected Price And Rivals
Expected to start at around 16.5 lakh (Ex-sh), the 5-door Gurkha will have the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door as its prime rival.
