Ashok Leyland Launches Its New Modular Truck Platform- The AVTR!

The AVTR platform from Ashok Leyland can spawn an entire range of rigid trucks, tippers, and tractors as per the customer demands.

Ashok Leyland has launched its all-new modular truck platform in the country. Dubbed the AVTR, the new platform from the Indian CV maker can spawn an entire range of rigid trucks, tippers, and tractors as per the customer demand. The tipper capacity could vary from 18.5T to a whole 55T. This means that customers of Ashok Leyland AVTR could get their vehicles configured to best suit their requirements. Needless to say in particular, the Ashok Leyland AVTR is the first modular truck platform in India.

The AVTR comes BS6 compliant with the CV manufacturer’s i-Gen6 BS6 technology. Besides the impressive performance and durability, this platform also demands applause for the improved safety and comfort that it offers the driver. The AVTR platform also means that the maker now has an upper hand in the global truck scenario as well, as it is now easier for them to switch between Left Hand Drive and Right Hand Drive easily with this architecture. With such flexibility comes better access to more global markets.

The AVTR platform had completed over 6 million km in field running prior to its market entry. It had also undergone serious high altitude and cold weather testings as well. The overall results suggest a lower cost of ownership, claims Ashok Leyland. Also integrated into the truck is the highly advanced, next Gen i-alert fleet management system that provides for improved remote support and diagnostics.

Owning any of the Ashok Leyland trucks has now become easier in India. The manufacturer has been growing its network aggressively in the past few years. It currently has around 3000 touchpoints and aims to have a touchpoint every 50 km in the near future!
