Citroen Berlingo Spied Testing In India!

The Citroen Berlingo would go against the likes of the Ertiga and Marazzo

The French auto-giant Groupe PSA is ready to make an ingress into the Indian market by the first quarter of 2021. The first model to be launched here would be the Citroën C5 Aircross SUV. Meanwhile, the company will also bring in the Citroën CC24 Subcompact SUV by mid 2021.

The latest pictures of the Citroen Berlingo MPV being tested, surfacing on the internet indicates that Citroën could also be readying the family MPV for India. Internationally Berlingo is available in two variants – Standard and XL. The Standard is a short wheelbase variant with a five seat configuration while the XL is the longer variant offered in either six or seven seater configurations.

The MPV follows the Citroën design quo with split headlamp units up front. On to the sides there is no doubt of it not being a van. It gets a shorter overhang, sliding doors, high set shoulder lines and some black claddings. The spotted vehicle sits on 16 inch steel wheels but the higher variants will get alloy wheels.

We expect it to come equipped with a wide variety of features offered internationally, including, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard, heads up instrument display, dual zone climate control, 360-degree surround camera, programmable cruise control and speed limiter, wireless charging for smartphones, etc.

The Berlingo is offered globally in three different trim levels namely, Feel, Flair and Flair XTR. The Feel gets a 1.2L petrol engine with 109hp, while the Flair gets the same engine producing 129hp. The Flair XTR, on the other hand, is offered with a 1.5L diesel engine putting out 129hp. The van gets an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard while the diesel can also be had with a 6-speed manual.

Once launched the Berlingo will go against the like of Maruti Ertiga, Maruti XL-6 and Mahindra Marazzo.
