EVRT 2020 will have each one of the electric vehicle taking part in it, cover a stupendous 1000km (622 miles) distance in a span of 5 days!

Electrification is taking the automotive industry by storm. We now have Dubai gearing itself up for the fourth edition of EVRT Dubai 2020, the epic 1000km all-electric run. Spread over a 5-day span, the road trip will see its start on 25th March 2020.

Generation.e, the international body supporting the acceleration of EV adoption across the world, has partnered with Dubai’s top automotive portal YallaMotor, for making the fourth edition grander than its predecessors. Together, they aim at promoting electric vehicle adoption in the UAE and will be investing around $300,000 in the marketing campaigns.

The EVRT 2020 Dubai road trip would cover a bunch of super exciting sights and roads around the United Arab Emirates and will showcase EVs from manufacturers around the world. It is hoped that this would significantly boost the pace of EV adoption in the region in the imminent future.

The EVRT 2020 session comes to Dubai in the ‘World’s Greatest Electric Vehicle Road Trip’, after successful executions in Europe and Africa. EVRT Dubai 2020 would have just 7 electric vehicle manufacturers taking part in it and will have around 100 participants from across the world uniting for a shared vision. 25 electric vehicles will drive in convoy across the breathtaking roadscapes of the UAE and will also see the rollout of new charging stations along the route.

Ben Pullen, Co-Founder & CEO at Generation.e, comments thus: “Bigger and better by all means, EVRT Dubai 2020 will build on the successes we have had in previous years with this year’s event to gather the latest and greatest electric vehicles from across the globe. This year is all about showcasing the choice that business, government, and consumers all have to look forward to as the world’s vehicle manufactures, both new and old, launch their electric vehicle models into the market. The abundance of choice for end users will now be the main challenge for electric vehicles, which signals the sign of a new era for EV this decade.”

That’s not it. The road trip would have a title hunt for the ‘World Regeneration Champion’. Part of the World Regeneration Challenge, the participants would compete against each other during their run down the hill at Ras Al Khaimah’s Jebel Jais mountain, in a quest to find out who generates the most amount of energy driving downhill, using the regenerative Braking systems of their EVs.

Jorge Bialade, General Manager at YallaMotor, added: “We have been partnering with the team at Generation.e since their inception four years ago and are glad to position ourselves at the forefront of cleaner mobility in the region. With an increased appetite for electric vehicles from car manufacturers and buyers alike, this year’s event is set to be the most exciting so far.”
