Force Gurkha Price Hiked Again, Costs Rs. 39K More Now

This is the second price hike in just four months for Force Gurkha

Force India has hiked the price of its all-terrain SUV- Force Gurkha by Rs. 39,000. The single variant off-road vehicle now costs Rs. 14.49 lakhs. Mahindra Thar, the main competitor of Gurkha, comes with only Rs. 14.10 lakhs for the base variant (Mahindra Thar LX Diesel).

This is the second time that the new Gurkha gets a hike. When the SUV was launched back in September 2021, it was priced from Rs. 13.59 lakhs in the Indian market. However, earlier in January, Force followed the suit of rivals to announce a hike of Rs. 51,000 for the model.

New Gurkha: What’s New?

New Force Gurkha comes with a major cosmetic overhaul. Force has replaced its logo with the Gurkha logo on the front grille. A new pattern signifying the all-terrain and all-weather capability is added on the sides. The iconic Kukri logo is now aligned with the same angle as the snorkel and moved to the right side of the vehicle.

The vehicle also gets features such as the full-LED Force Pro Edge headlamps, broken circle DRLs, and LED indicators mounted on the fender.

Under the hood, the new Gurkha is powered by a new 2.6-liter turbocharged diesel engine by Mercedes. The engine generates 91 BHP and 250Nm of torque. The five-speed Mercedes G-28 gearbox is now mated with a hydraulically activated clutch that comes with a booster. The 4×4 can take up slopes of up to 35 degrees on the low first gear in crawl mode; it can also effortlessly wade through 700mm depth streams. The compact design also enables a shorter turning radius of 5.65 meters.
