Hero Glamour XTec Launched In India, Gets Turn-By-Turn Navigation

Hero Glamour Xtec gets more style, safety and technology

The Glamour is one of the biggest volume sellers for Hero Motocorp in India. The motorcycle has just been made more attractive by stuffing in a few additional features, meet Hero Glamour XTEC. The motorcycle is priced from Rs 78,900. The top-spec disc-equipped variant is priced at Rs 83,500 (ex-sh, Delhi). This if you might recollect, is a price premium of Rs 3000-4000 over the standard motorcycle, retailing at Rs 73,200 and 78,500, ex-showroom.

Hero Glamour Xtec: What’s Different?

Think of the Xtec as a feature-loaded version of the standard Glamour. There are no major design deviations from the standard motorcycle. The overall shape remains the same, while a few key design cues have been polished to give a sportier appeal. The LED headlamps and signature ‘H’ position lamps look good and quite befitting for a premium commuter motorcycle. Other key design highlights include 3D branding, rim tapes, and blue accents on the matte body paint. There are currently two colors to choose from- Gloss Black and matte Axis Grey. It is just on the Grey colorway that you get to see the Blue accents, the Glossy Black bike has them in White.

More Equipment

There are a number of highly desirable features on offer on the Glamour Xtec. The motorcycle comes with a digital instrument cluster that gets a segment-first Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, alongside a neat display of vital rider information such as gear position indicator, Eco mode, Tachometer, and Real-time mileage. The rider gets access to call and SMS alerts and Google-backed turn-by-turn navigation, just by pairing his phone with the bike.

The Glamour Xtec also gets a number of safety features like a side-stand visual indicator, first-in-segment side stand engine cut off, bank angle sensor that kills the engine in the event of a fall, wider rear tyre etc.

Specifications

The mechanicals remain the same as the standard motorcycle. Hero glamour XTec is powered by the same 124.7 cc, BS6 engine mated to a 5-speed constant mesh transmission. Together, these churn out 10.7 hp at 7500 rpm, and 10.6 Nm at 6000 rpm. The engine gets XSens Programmed fuel injection, giving up to 7% hikes in the overall fuel efficiency. There are also Hero’s i3S (idle start-stop system) and Auto Sail technology on offer on the XTec, ensuring optimum ride comfort and efficiency at all times.

The motorcycle gets a 5 step adjustable hydraulic shock at the rear and longer front forks. The overall ground clearance is a good 180mm. 240mm disc brakes are available on the top-spec variant.

Rivalry

Honda SP 125 could be called the key rival to the Glamour Xtec. The SP 125 had lately been the best bet for a customer hunting for a feature-packed 125cc premium commuter. However, this monopoly could now come to an end as the Glamour XTec gets a couple of features that the Honda misses out on! The competency remains valid even if you are to go by the prices, as the SP 125 is priced in the Rs 78,381- 82,677 range.

Soaring Sales!

Hero Motocorp sales have been soaring in recent times. The manufacturer had sold more than a million units in the first Quarter of FY22. Consider the Glamour XTec launch, a gear-up for a more exciting Q2. The homegrown two-wheeler major apparently has an aggressive product plan for the years ahead.
