India-Bound Hyundai Creta Facelift Scores 5-Star ASEAN NCAP Rating

Hyundai India will launch the new Creta next year…

Facelifted Hyundai Creta is hoped to arrive on the Indian shores sometime next year. The SUV could break veils at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023. The new Creta is not creating headlines with its crash test results. In a recent crash test by ASEAN NCAP, the new Creta scored a full five-star rating. Both the Creta and Stargazer MPV were put to test under the updated ASEAN NCAP 2021-2025 protocol, in which the SUV significantly improved over its own previous results.

Hyundai Creta facelift scored 75.78 points under the new protocol. It achieved 34.72 points for adult occupant protection and 34.72 for child safety. A score of 14.08 was given to the safety assist and 11.42 for motorcyclist safety. The test unit had two airbags as standard. The higher variants of the upcoming Hyundai SUV will have up to 6 airbags, and a host of other safety features: Electronic stability control, (ESC), ABS, EBD, seatbelt reminders, ISOFIX mounts, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, auto high beam, and blind spot detection. It would even offer Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, for ensuring the safety of approaching motorcycles, at the rear.

The new Creta is among the most anticipated Hyundai car launches in 2023. The Korean manufacturer is also known to bring in the new Verna and i20 in the year ahead. Rumours also suggest that Hyundai India could possibly launch the Stargazer MPV sometime in the future. However, what we do know is that the IONIQ 5 will hit the Indian market sooner than we expected it to.
