Jawa Perak Bobber Launched In India At 1.95 Lakhs!

The Jawa Perak Bobber gets a 334cc BS6 powerhouse good enough to let out 30 HP!

Here it is finally, the bobber for the classic lovers, the Jawa Perak. The single-seater bobber, which was first revealed a year back has now hit the markets for a very interesting price! The Perak had back then, been showcased as a factory custom, alongside the Jawa and the Jawa Forty Two.

The Jawa Perak bobber embodies the true spirits of Stealth, Vigilante and Dark. The bike is indeed a factory custom and comes as a single-seater. (Fancying a Jawa Perak double seater? well… better luck next time!)

You get to find many a change in the overall design of the bike (Just look at these Jawa Perak images if you don’t believe me !) The Jawa bobber has an all-new swingarm and the characteristic Jawa twin exhausts have been chopped out for strict bobber stance, bobbed fenders and a floating seat that looks as stylish as it actually is.

Coming to the Jawa Perak specs, it gets the familiar 334cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke, DOHC engine, but in its BS6 guise. This mill is good to let out a healthy 30 HP and 31 Nm, both of which reach the wheels through a 6-speed transmission. No questions shall be raised now regarding the Jawa Perak sound, as the bike gets the familiar Jawa-ish twin pipes.

There have been significant tweaks in the chassis of the Jawa Perak bobber, as the bike gets a new swingarm that has been reworked to deliver the optimum transverse, longitudinal,
torsional rigidity, that a bobber demands. Frame and swingarm stiffness have been so engineered as to be pretty much linear in nature. What this means is that the Jawa Perak bobber would give you no headache or shivering feet on winding roads and the straights. Thus the handling of the vehicle seems to have had a great leap ahead.

Speaking more on the new motorcycle,Ashish Singh Joshi, Chief Executive Officer, Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd. said, “The last one year has been about putting smiles on every Jawa lover’s face with the Jawa and Jawa forty two. It is time for us now to offer more to our customers and the Perak paves the way for that. A true factory custom, the Perak rewrites the rules for a classic motorcycle, while keeping the character of a Jawa  intact.”

At 1,94,500 (ex-showroom, New Delhi), the Jawa Perak price seems makes the bike even more appealing. The bookings will open on Jan 01, 2020 and deliveries are expected to commence in April. (Waiting to book yours? Head here!)

Jawa Motorcycle India had had its resurrection back in 2018 through a healthy association with Mahindra and CLassic Legends Pvt Ltd.

Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group said, “Last year we had the rare opportunity to resurrect an iconic brand. Jawa represented the desire and yearning in all of us for freedom and adventure. It’s been a deeply fulfilling year, stirring a thousand memories of fans who grew up with Jawa and innumerable stories of new owners who will grow up along them!”

Anupam Thareja,Co-Founder & Director, Classic Legends Pvt Ltd. said,“It was a proud moment for me and my team when we launched Jawa this day, last year. From being sold out in a span of weeks and expanding our dealership base in record time to launching the Forever Heroes and Jawa Nomads program, it has been a tremendous year for us. However, we have just scratched the surface and rearing to go with more new products and offerings. The opportunity to resurrect Jawa also came with its own set of challenges and we thank the Kommunity and our customers for keeping their faith enabling us to reach greater heights with our products and outreach programs.”

The brand had then brought our two models- the Jawa and Jawa 42, both of which had amassed HUGE numbers of bookings back then. In fact, these had then been sold out for nearly 9 months and Jawa had to close the online bookings within 40 days of launch. judging by the phenomenal response that it amassed, we hope the case to be no different with the Perak either.
