Kia Sonet SUV Concept [Kia QYI] Makes World Premiere At Auto Expo 2020 !

The Kia Sonet SUV, in its production guise, would rival the likes of Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza…

KIA Motors India has taken veils off the Kia Sonet SUV concept at the Auto Expo 2020. The design study will soon spawn a compact SUV that would go against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon and Hyundai Venue in India. This is essentially what had earlier been rumoured to be testing under the codename, KIA QYI.

Think of the Sonet as the Kia iteration of the Hyundai Venue, as both the models will share most if not all of the engine and gearbox options. The design sees a major drift away from those of the other Kia SUVs of the international markets. The front gets large rectangular headlamps and prominent tiger-nose grille with beautiful red garnishing. The side air vents are designed in a vertical fashion.

The side profile gets a sleek lean-back design with chunky wheel arches and hosts things like flush door handles, simplistic door panels and a thoroughly premium C pillar design. The rear gets slightly raked backglass and stylish tail lamps. A magnificent strip of light connects the tail lamps of either side together. The KIA badging too is illuminated and elegant.

The cabin of the Kia Sonet gets stuff like a10.25inch touch screen infotainment system, UVO Connect, Bose premium audio system, intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) etc. The Sonet will sit below the Kia Seltos in the Indian lineup and will be branded as the most affordable offering from the Korean manufacturer. We expect the production-spec Kia Sonet price to be highly aggressive as well.
