Mahindra Bolero Neo is hoped to launch in India in the coming days
Mahindra is about to launch an important product in the coming days before the XUV 700 arrives later this month. Bolero NEO will hopefully be launched sometime in the coming weeks. While the name may be too suggestive of the familiar Bolero nameplate, the product as such would essentially be the rebadged Mahindra TUV 300 facelift. Mahindra has now released a series of videos teasing the Bolero NEO.
As you might remember, the TUV 300 was originally launched in 2015. However, it is not something that had created sales revolutions in the MUV space, where it belonged to. Thus, with the new name in place, the vehicle is hoped to get better attention upon launch.
Mahindra Bolero NEO: What To Expect?
Going by the videos, the Bolero NEO is hoped to get a host of changes in it even when the overall shape would remain identical to the outgoing TUV 300. The Bolero NEO will have a reworked front fascia with new headlamps housing integrated LED DRLs, refreshed bumpers, new skid plates upfront and at the rear, and a new front grille with vertical slats like the outgoing Scorpio and XUV 500. The bumper would clearly resemble that of the regular Bolero in its overall design.
Though not detailed in the video, the side profile would also stand close to the TUV 300 in the overall design, with similar designs for the wheel arches, roofline, and rear pillars. No big changes are expected at the rear either.
The cabin of the Bolero NEO is hoped to get comprehensive rework from the previous TUV 300. The new car’s cabin will look more premium. It will also have many significant feature additions like the new analog-digital instrument cluster shown in the videos. The NEO is also hoped to offer multiple seating configurations.
In terms of powertrains, the Bolero NEO will offer the regular Bolero’s 1.5L three-cylinder diesel engine, mated to a 5-speed transmission. This engine is expected to produce 100 hp and 240 Nm. The Bolero NEO would likely be priced in the 8.9-11.9 lakh (ex-showroom), in which case will sit above the XUV 300.
