Mercedes Benz India has added two top of the line variants to its popular GLE SUV. Here’s more…
Mercedes Benz India had launched the all-new GLE SUV in India recently. The car had managed to turn a fair number of heads back then and currently has around three months of waiting period. The German automaker has now given this offering two new top of the line variants here. The GLE 450 4MATIC LWB and 400 d 4MATIC LWB have both been launched to top the petrol and diesel line-ups respectively.
Both the GLE 450 and GLE400d are powered by in-line six petrol and diesel engines respectively, both of which are BS6 compliant as well. The petrol powered GLE450 4MATIC puts out 367hp and 500Nm all by itself. However, an additional 22 hp and 250Nm is available from the EQ Boost system. Thus this vehicle could do the zero to hundred sprint in just 5.7 seconds!
The diesel guise of the GLE LWB, or the GLE 400d 4MATIC as it is called, churns out 330hp and 700Nm and does the 100km/h sprint in 5.7 seconds as well. Transmission duties on both the cars are carried out by the familiar 9 G Tronic units.
Being range toppers, both the cars come with state of the art safety features. The other equipment lineup remains the same as the lower GLEs. Being CKD units, the prices for the GLE 450 4MATIC and GLE 400d 4MATIC are INR 88.80 lakh and INR 89.90 lakh respectively.
“The new GLE LWB has already excited the market and has a 3 months waiting period. With the introduction of a petrol model, we expect it to further drive its popularity and cater to the requirements of those customers who waited for a petrol model. It remains our
