MG Astor bookings will officially begin on October 21
Putting an end to anticipations, Morris Garages India has finally revealed the prices of their newest offering- MG Astor. Essentially the petrol-powered iteration of the ZS EV, the Astor has multiple USPs to flaunt. The Astor prices start from Rs 9.78 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base-spec Style variant. There are a total of 9 variants on offer, and with both NA and turbo petrol engines and manual, CVT, and AT transmissions. The turbo petrol variants are priced from 15.88 lakh, with the range-topping Sharp 220 Turbo AT BritDynamic having a sticker price of Rs 16.78 lakh.
As we had discussed in our first-drive review at BIC, the Astor 220 Turbo is quite desirable in its looks, kit levels, and dynamics. The pricing seems to be brilliant for a product of this kind and goes hand in hand with our early anticipations of a disruptive price tag. These tuck well under those of the segment’s reigning champion- Creta.
Much as expected from MG, technology remains the heart and soul of the Astor as well. The range-topping variant is loaded with features and technologies including Level 2 ADAS, and seems penny-worthy at Rs 16.78 lakh, ex-showroom. You can know more about the Astor- like the mechanicals, features, colours etc in our first-look story
An interesting bit here is that the base spec Style with NA petrol engine and manual transmission gets a heartwarming list of features- selectable steering modes, hill descent control, full LED headlamps with follow me home function and DRLs, automatic AC with rear AC vents, electronic stability program, ABS, EBD, brake assist, traction control, Hill hold, 4 disc brakes, 10.1 inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, steering mounted audio control, 16-inch wheels with wheel covers, power-adjustable mirrors, etc.
