The MG Gloster Blackstorm edition is priced from Rs. 40.3 lakh
MG Motor has launched the Blackstorm edition of the Gloster in India at Rs. 40.3 lakh. The new edition features a black overall theme, both in the interior as well as the exterior. The SUV comes with no mechanical changes from the standard Gloster.
MG Gloster Blackstorm Exterior
The dimensions of the SUV are the same as those of the standard Gloster. It is 4,985mm long, 1,926mm wide, and 1,867mm tall. The main change that comes with this edition is the new look of the SUV. MG Motor has featured an all-black theme for its premium SUV. This use of the black theme was already employed by Tata Motors in their ‘Dark Edition’, Maruti Suzuki in their ‘Black Edition,’ and Volkswagen with their ‘Deep Black Pearl’ editions.
MG Motor offers two paint options for the Blackstorm edition: Metal Black and Metal Ash. Other parts of the SUV also receive the black treatment, such as the roof rails, tail lamp and headlamp housings, fog lamp housing, window trim, and the alloy wheels. Red accents can also be spotted on the headlamps, brake calipers, front and rear bumpers, and the wing mirrors. The inclusion of the red elements in the black theme adds to the sportiness of the SUV.
MG Gloster Blackstorm Interior
The new edition comes with an all-black interior upholstery. The red accents can also be spotted inside the cabin, on the steering and dashboard. The Blackstorm retains the main features of the regular Gloster. This includes the 12-way adjustable driver’s seat, 8-way adjustable passenger’s seat, panoramic sunroof, etc. It also gets the ADAS safety features like lane change assist and adaptive cruise control.
MG Gloster Blackstorm will be available in 6- and 7-seater options. The 6-seater features six captain seats, whereas the 7-seater comes with a bench for the third row. MG has also revealed an 8-seater variant for the regular Gloster, with bench seats in the middle and the last row.

MG Gloster Blackstorm Edition Powertrain
There are no mechanical changes in the MG Gloster Blackstorm edition from the regular SUV. It retains the 2.0L turbo-diesel engine for the 2WD version, producing 163 hp, and the 2.0L twin-turbo diesel engine for the 4WD, which pushes out 218 hp. Both of them come mated to an 8-speed gearbox. The 4WD, however, gets a BorgWarner transfer case with a shift-on-fly system.
MG Gloster Blackstorm Edition Price
The MG Gloster Blackstorm edition is priced from Rs. 40.3 lakh for the 6-seater and 7-seater 2WD variants and Rs. 43.08 lakh for the 6- or 7-seater 4WD version. The top-spec Savvy variant is priced at Rs. 41.77 lakh. The regular MG Gloster is priced from Rs. 32.60 lakh.
