Skoda Kushaq Launched In India From INR 10.5 Lakh

Skoda offers two turbocharged petrol engines on the Kushaq- 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI

Skoda India has just commenced its most anticipated launch of the year, the made in India Skoda Kushaq. The ‘VISION IN’ based SUV is priced from INR 10.50 lakh, ex-showroom. The current top-spec variant will come to you for INR 17.59 lakh, ex-showroom. The deliveries are known to start from July 12, 2021. Originally scheduled for March 2021, Kushaq’s launch was later postponed due to the pandemic, further raising the anticipation.

Skoda Kushaq is the production form of the VISION IN SUV concept, essentially the first product of Volkswagen Group’s India 2.0 project. Kushaq is underpinned by the MQB A0 IN platform, developed specifically for India with high degrees of localization gone into it. This platform is claimed to offer high torsional rigidity.

Kushaq has signature Skoda cues in its design. It has edgy two-part headlights, sculpted bumpers, stylish tail lamps, and good looking 17-inch alloy wheels. The Kushaq is offered in three trim levels (Active, Ambition, Style) and 5 exterior paint schemes. The cabin of the Kushaq is equally stylish and offers a pleasant experience to the occupants. There are a number of features like ventilated seats, sunroof, keyless entry, wireless charging, two-spoke steering wheel, and a brand new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system as well.

There are two engines to choose from- a 1.0L TSI turbo petrol unit churning out 110 hp / 178 Nm and a beefier 1.5 TSI producing 150 hp/ 250 Nm. The available transmission options include 6 speed manual, 6AT, and 7 DSG. Essentially pitched as a Creta rival, the Kushaq will also face competition from the Seltos, upcoming Astor, and VW Taigun.
