TATA motors expands its mid-hatch line-up with more affordable automatic variants.
TATA Motors has launched Tiago’s cost-competitive automatic trim- Tiago XTA at a price of INR 5.99 Lakhs. With this, there are now a total of 4 AMT options for the customers to choose from, according to their budget. Coming up with more or less the same equipment list as that of XT, the new XTA is priced RS 50,000 more than its manual variant.
Speaking about the specifications, the XTA variant features the new BS6 compliant 1.2L, 1199 CC petrol engine with 3 cylinders, paired with a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Like the other Tiago variants, the XTA too will be available only in the petrol guise. Other features of the Tiago XTA include a 4 speaker ConnectNext infotainment by Harman, 15-inch wheels with full wheel covers, steering mounted audio and telephony controls, interior lamps with theatre dimming, Driver Information Screen, and reverse assist and display.
Since it is priced around RS. 47,000 below the full option Tiago XZ variant, it is clear that the company aims to stretch the competitive edge in the mid-hatch segment, providing more budget-friendly offerings.
With an existing account of more than 3.25 lakh customers pan India, this new variant of Tiago will be pitted against pocket-friendly AMT variants of Maruti Suzuki Celerio, WagonR and Hyundai Santro.
