TVS Motor Company has acquired certain assets of the British marque for an eye-popping sum !

TVS Motor Company has successfully acquired the iconic British Sporting Motorcycle brand Norton. The Indian bike brand has bought certain assets of the British luxury bikemaker for a whopping 16 Million GBP and in an all-cash deal through one of their overseas subsidiaries. Their new acquisition would truly proclaim the hiked significance of TVS in the international motorcycle markets.

For those who are still ignorant of the same, Norton is an internationally acclaimed British Motorcycle brand, founded by James Lansdowne Norton in 1898. They are best known for their classic models and eclectic range of luxury motorcycles, all the way from the 20th century. Deserving special mentions are the present-day iterations of Commando and the 1200 V4 superbikes, abso fab! TVS Motor Company seems to be equally excited about these as well.

“Norton will continue to retain its distinctive identity with dedicated and specific business plans. TVS Motor will work closely with customers and employees in building the success and pre-eminence of the Norton Motorcycles brand and we look forward to growing together globally in the years to come.”

Said  Mr. Sudarshan Venu, Joint Managing Director, TVS Motor Company

Norton, now evidently stands a fair chance of leveraging the widespread reach of TVS Motor Company, to expand their reach to new markets globally. This could mean that India could soon get to taste more of these beasts as well. With time still remaining for all those good things to happen, let us just keep fingers crossed and wait for now…
