15K Units Of Maruti Celerio Sold In Under A Month!

Second generation Maruti Celerio garners immense acceptance in India…

Market leader Maruti Suzuki’s latest hatchback Celerio’s bookings are off to a flyer in the country. The manufacturer posted sales of15000 units of the hatch within a month of its launch. Claimed to be India’s most fuel-efficient car with 26kmpl on offer, 2021 Celerio currently has a 12-week waiting period, owing to the prevailing chip shortage.

Second generation Celerio was launched in November 2021 at a very competitive price Rs. 4.99 Lakh. The first-generation Celerio, having launched in India in 2014, had become a huge success here, with sales exceeding 6 lakh units.

The new Celerio is based on Maruti Suzuki’s new-age Heartect platform. The design is more or less a gamble as the MSIL preferred to go smooth and round with the new car. Every bit on the car from the sleek grille, rounded headlamps, appealing roofline, and catchy tail look fresh. The cabin is considerably roomier than the previous car and gets more equipment as well.

Celerio 2021 is powered by Maruti’s next-generation K-Series engine, equipped with Dual Jet and Dual VVT. The car can produce 67bhp at 6000rpm, and 89nm torque at 3500rpm. The familiar 5-speed manual and 5 AMT are the transmissions on offer. We had talked in detail about how good the changes have been for the occupants and the driver in our first drive review. To add more spice, Maruti Suzuki also offers a wide range of accessories and add-ons on the gen 2 Celerio.
