The Euro Spec Isuzu Dmax gets much more safety equipment as standard than its Indian counterpart
The Euro-spec Isuzu Dmax has scored a full five-star rating in the recently conducted crash tests by Euro-NCAP. The lifestyle pickup truck secured 32.2 points for adult occupants protection or 84% in evaluation. The child occupants safety was even higher with 42.2 points or 86% protection, while the vulnerable road user’s safety was awarded 37.6 points or 69% protection and for the safety assist system, it scored 13.4 points computing to 83%.
The Isuzu D-max for European market comes equipped with safety features including, 6 airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners and load limiters at front and rear, ISOFIX mounting points, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), speed assist, lane assist, etc. The Euro-spec Dmax is powered by a 1.9L diesel mill producing 148hp and 350Nm of torque, mated to either a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
Isuzu had launched the BS6compliant D’max couple of months back with prices starting at Rs. 8.63 Lakh. The Indian version is powered by a 2.5L diesel putting out 78hp and 176Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual.
