The baby KTM Duke now gets the chassis of the Duke 390!
We had earlier apprised you about the launch of Duke 125 in its new avatar. KTM has now launched the new Duke 125 in India at an introductory price of Rs. 1.5 lakh.
As for the design, the baby Duke follows the bigger 200, 250 and 390 siblings in its styling, except for the LED headlight seen in 250 and 390 Duke being ditched for the time being, and getting a halogen unit to do the job for now.
The instrument cluster is the one seen in the 200 and 250 Dukes which is a leap forward but doesn’t feature Bluetooth connectivity, like we had earlier seen in the Duke 390. The Duke 125 now looks sharper and mroe aggressive like every other Duke on sale here in India.
The Duke 125 will come equipped with the same 124cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor as before, producing 14.5hp and 12Nm of torque and mated to a 6-speed transmission.
Another big change to be noted is that the Duke 125 is now built on the same platform as seen in bigger siblings. The bike now gets a steel trellis frame with a bolt-on sub-frame. The wheels, brakes, and the front USD forks are the same as before. At 13.4 liters, the fuel tank capacity has also increased. The bike now weighs 7kg more than the outgoing model , the figures tipping the scale at 159 kilos. The seat height has now been raised from 818mm to a handsome 822mm.
In terms of the price range, the Duke 125 will compete against the likes of Honda Hornet 2.0, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the Yamaha MT-15 in our market.
