The new Audi A4 will compete with the likes of BMW 3 series, Mercedes Benz C Class and the Jaguar XE
Audi India has launched the new 2021 Audi A4 in the country with prices ranging from Rs 42.34 lakh to Rs 46.67 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new A4 embarks on Audi’s product offensive strategy for 2021. The carmaker will launch a new car every month from now. Unsurprisingly, there will be no diesel option on offer.
New A4 is offered in two variants – Premium Plus and Technology. The top-spec Technology variant is equipped with all bells and whistles, including Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster, all-LED headlamps, multi-zone climate control, ambient lighting, etc.
It’s the second time A4 is undergoing a facelift in the recent past, the previous model was discontinued earlier this year, in the light of BS6 regulations swinging into place. The changes in the new A4 are subtle. The car now gets a wider, single-frame grille, new headlamps with DRL, reworked front and rear bumpers, and restyled rear taillamps.
Hopping in, the basic layout remains unchanged, though the 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and other bits are new. Also, the new A4 continues to use physical controls for the climate control system.
The new A4 gets a 2.0L turbocharged petrol mill producing 190 hp instead of the 1.4L engine seen in the previous model. The engine comes mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic box sending power to the front wheels. There’s, however, no diesel engine on offer.
The A4 will compete against the German duo, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3 Series, along with the petrol only Jaguar XE for the time being.
