Ford Figo automatic is available in the Titanium and Titanium+ variants
Ford India has relaunched the Figo automatic in the country. 2021 Ford Figo gets automatic transmission on just two variants- Titanium and Titanium+. This essentially means that the top-spec Blu variant will have just the manual gearbox on offer. The Titanium AT is priced at Rs. 7.75 lakh (ex-showroom) and Titanium+ AT at Rs 8.20 lakh.
Ford has given the new Figo a number of automatic gearboxes since its India premiere in 2015. The car had initially had a dual-clutch transmission mated to the 110hp, 1.5 Liter, 4 pot petrol engine. In 2019 when Ford gave the Figo a major revamp, a new 123hp, 3-cylinder, 1.5-liter petrol engine premiered, mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. This was discontinued during the time of BS6 transition. The new model essentially slots into the void created by this axing.
2021 Ford Figo automatic has the 6-speed torque converter automatic box mated to the same 1.2L three-cylinder petrol engine present on the outgoing car. This engine churns out 96hp and 119Nm, figures that are the best in its segment. The 1.5L diesel engine, however, does not get the automatic transmission and continues to go with the 5-speed manual box.
2021 Ford Figo’s 6 AT: What To Know About It?
Unlike the automatic box on the Ecosport, the Figo’s AT does not get paddle shifters. It gets what Ford calls a ‘Select shift’ instead, for executing manual shifts. Manual shifts here, are done using a switch mounted on the gear lever. There is also a dedicated Sport mode that the carmaker claims, would give more aggressive shifts.
Features And Styling
The entire equipment array remains almost untouched. The Figo Titanium AT and Titanium Plus AT have identical equipment and feature lists like those of the corresponding manual variants. The key features on the inside include a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with embedded navigation and support for Fordpass app connectivity but misses out on the latest-gen SYNC software, and connectivity solutions like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, height adjustment for driver seat, push-button start, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, and remote keyless entry.
The new Figo has up to 6 airbags, a rear parking camera, ABS, EBD, traction control, and hill launch assist. A new dual-tone design for the 15 alloy wheels remains the only visual upgrade to the 2021 automatic Figo.
Price And Rivals
Variant | Ex-Sh Price |
Figo Titanium Petrol AT | 7.75 lakh |
Figo Titanium+ Petrol AT | 8.20 lakh |
The Ford Figo automatic targets the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift AMT and Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS AMT. That being said, the prices are quite decent. Maruti Swift AMT is priced in the 7.01-8.56 lakh range and the NIOS AMT in the 6.62-8.30 lakh range. Figo’s key USP here would be the 6 AT transmission, which definitely has an upper hand over the AMT units of the rivals.
