New Tata Safari Dark Edition Launched At Rs 19.05 Lakh

The new Safari finally wears the #DARK suit…

Tata’s flagship SUV Safari finally joins the Dark range. Tata Safari Dark edition has been launched in the country, with the prices starting from Rs 19.05 lakh, ex-showroom. The Dark Edition is available on a total of 6 trims- XT+, XTA+, XZ+(6-seater), XZ+, XZA+ (6-seater), and XZA+. As evident from the names, the Safari Dark edition is available with both manual and automatic transmissions. The top-spec XZA+ Dark Edition bears a showroom price tag of Rs 22.51 lakh. Thus, the Safari Dark range is Rs 20,000-72,000 more expensive than the corresponding variants of the standard car. We had previously seen similar price premiums with the other Dark edition cars as well.

Tata Safari Dark Edition: Exterior Highlights

The Safari Dark Edition gets Oberon Black as its exterior colorway. This if you might remember, is the same shade from the 2021 Harrier Dark edition. The grille, headlight surrounds and window surrounds that have Chrome on the standard car, have all been blacked out on the Dark edition. The Safari Dark also has its 18-inch rims in Black. The manufacturer’s logo and #Dark badges are both retained in Chrome, much similar to what we had previously seen on the Altroz, Nexon, Nexon EV and Harrier Dark editions.

Tata Safari Dark Edition: Interior

The Dark Edition Safari’s cabin would stand out for its aesthetics and liveability. The Dark suit brings an all Black theme to the Safari’s cabin. The interior now gets an all-Black finish with ‘Blackstone Matrix’ inserts on the dashboard. If you might remember, all the previous special editions of Safari like the Adventure persona and the Gold edition had had their cabins finished in lighter colors like Beige and White. In the way it looks, the Safari Dark edition’s cabin would stand close to that of the Harrier Dark.

The kit levels on this car are the next big thing. Dark edition Safari comes well-kitted with the likes of a large 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay/ Android Auto, ventilated first and second-row seats, wireless charger, JBL premium audio, Tata iRA tech, air purifier, leatherette upholstery, etc on offer. Interestingly, seat ventilation is something that we had previously seen on the Gold edition, but this might not strike us quickly due to the previous car’s exclusivity.

Specifications:

Like every other Dark edition car, the Safari Dark remains mechanically unchanged and gets the same 2.0L diesel engine as its powerplant. 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions are on offer, and together, these can produce 170 hp and 350Nm. Much the same way as before, the Safari Dark will have the Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus as its key rivals. The three-row SUV game is heating up and a few more key players are expected to join soon. Would you agree if we say that the upcoming Kia Carens MPV might even battle the Safari? Well…
