Tata Altroz Racer Launched In India At ₹9.49 Lakh

Tata Motors launches its i20 N Line rival!

Tata Altroz Racer has been launched in India, with prices starting from ₹9.49 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). The Altroz Racer is designed for performance, featuring a turbocharged petrol engine, several aesthetic improvements, and an array of new features. The car is available in 3 trims, 3 colours and with just a manual transmission.

Design

This hot (?) hatch boasts a look that thrills and a cabin that coddles. Three stunning dual-tone paint schemes are available with a blacked-out roof. Twin racing stripes can be found on the bonnet, while “Racer” and “i-Turbo+” badges can be found on the tailgate. The Racer uses minimal Chrome and Blacked-out alloy wheels.

Interior

On the inside, the most noticeable change is the new 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen. Additionally, the Altroz Racer gets ventilated seats, ambient lighting, contrast stitching, a 360-degree camera, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, sunroof, and a wireless charger. In terms of safety, it comes equipped with 6 airbags, a blind-spot monitor, cruise control, ESC, and other safety features.

Specifications

Tata Altroz Racer gets the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Nexon, capable of generating 118 bhp and 170 Nm power, coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Racer thus has an additional 10 hp and 30 Nm compared to the regular Altroz i-Turbo.

Price And Variants

Reservations for the Altroz Racer started this month for a nominal fee of ₹21,000, with deliveries set to start on June 8, 2024. Compared to the regular Altroz, which costs between ₹6.65 – 10.65 lakh, and its main competitor, the Hyundai i20 N Line, which ranges from ₹10 – 12.52 lakh.
