Benelli TRK 251 will battle the likes of RE Himalayan and KTM Adventure 250
Chinese-owned Italian motorcycle brand Benelli has teased its followers with a video of its upcoming entry-level ADV motorcycle- TRK 251. A direct competition to Royal Enfield’s Himalayan and KTM 250, Benelli TRK 251 will make for an affordable ADV in the Indian market. Benelli India is gearing up for its launch here and has started taking pre-bookings from December 6, 2021.
Meanwhile, Benelli India chief Vikas Jhabakh, in an exclusive interview with HT Auto, revealed that the brand is planning to launch as many as three new motorcycles in India. Even though Jhabakh didn’t specify any further detail of these models, he has confirmed that all three would roll out before the end of this financial year.
Benelli TRK 251: What To Expect?
Coming back to Benelli TRK 251, the bike has a 249cc, 25 HP liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine, much the same way as in Benelli TNT 25, can produce 21.1 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM. The motorcycle comes with upside-down front forks and a mono-shock at the rear. The six-speed gearbox gets a Wet Multi-plate clutch.

TRK 251 also sports twin LED headlights with DRLs, a tall windscreen for hassle-free touring, LED turn signal lamps that sit comfortably on the sides, split seats and an LCD digital instrumentation cluster. Other notable bits are the exposed trellis frame, rear rack with pannier mounts and upswept exhaust. Weighing 164 Kgs and with a seat height of 800 mm, it also features a large 18-litre fuel tank. Expected to hit the Indian market in Q1, 2022, TRK 251 is likely to get a price tag of around INR 2.2 lakh to 2.5 lakh.
