Revisiting the BYD pavilion at Delhi Motor show 23
The 16th edition of Auto Expo has so far been a blissful event, with tons of automakers presenting their marvellous creations with pride. Chinese electric car maker Build Your Dreams (BYD) is one of the key debutants at this year’s show and it’s made its mark by showcasing two exciting cars- the Atto 3 Special Edition and BYD Seal sedan.
BYD Atto 3 Special Edition
BYD India launched the Atto 3 SUV in November last year as the second addition to their Indian portfolio, after the e6 MPV. Then, what’s special about the Atto 3 at the Auto Expo? Well, it’s an exclusive model that’ll be made in very few numbers.
This is the BYD Atto 3 Limited Edition, which comes in a special shade of Forest Green. Only 1,200 units will be produced at a price of ₹34.49 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, India), which is a ₹50,000 bump over the standard model. The Atto 3 comes with a front-axle mounted PMSM motor and a 60.4 kWh Blade battery pack with an ARAI-rated range of 521km on tap.

BYD Seal
The highlight of the show for BYD was the unveiling of the Seal electric sedan in India. It is expected to be launched by Q4 2023, with deliveries starting in the festive season that follows.
The Seal features the exclusive CTB (Cell-To-Body) Technology. It’s available with single and dual motor setups, and with 2 battery pack options-a 61.4 kWh unit which offers 550 km of range and a bigger 82.5 kWh unit with 700km of claimed range. The electric sedan is underpinned by BYD’s e Platform 3.0 and uses Blade Battery Technology.
