Hummer EV Sells Out For An Year In Just 10 Minutes.

The Hummer EV is hoped to hit the global markets by Q4, 2021

General Motors revealed the ground-breaking Hummer EV, the all-electric pickup truck and a modern-day reinterpretation of the legendary Hummer SUV, in October, 2020. The Hummer was out of business since 2009 and in 2020, the company would make a strong comeback with the Hummer EV. Duncan Aldred, Vice President, GMC revealed that they received booking for the whole first edition Hummer EVs in just 10 minutes after they made it available in October.

He further added that, of all the people who reserved the Hummer EV, about half of them said that if a first Edition becomes available, they’d certainly like to have that very vehicle.

The Hummer EV Edition 1 will probably be launched in the last quarter of 2021 and will bear a price tag of $112,595 (approximately Rs. 82.79 Lakh) in the US. The EV truck will be manufactured at GM’s all-electric vehicle assembly, Factory ZERO plants in Detroit and Hamtramck.

The Hummer EV would be as exciting to drive as what it had been in the oil-burning avatar, if not more ! The electric SUV will have a three-motor setup that would churn out as much as 1000hp. With all four of its wheels powered, the Hummer EV would do the 0-100 sprint in under 3 seconds! The Hummer EV would have a new Ultium battery pack tech that would give it an impressive 350 miles range per charge. When launched, it will have to battle the likes of Tesla Cybertruck and Rivian R1T, R1S etc

The company hasn’t revealed the exact number of bookings received for the Hummer EV yet. However, it will be another year or so before GMC launches the other variants of the Hummer EV. The EV pickup truck is currently being tested through its paces in Milford and later the prototypes will make their way to Northern Michigan for the winter endurance testing.
