MG would also rule in a price hike across its range from Jan 2021
The Hector Plus in the 7-seat configuration is known to debut in January 2021. The newest addition to MG India’s portfolio will feature a middle row bench seat unlike the captain seats we had seen previously in the Hector Plus that was launched in in July 2020.
Apart from the middle row bench seat, the 7-seater version might as well recieve a modicun of tweaks inside-out to set both six-seater and seven-seater fair apart.
The powertrain options are expected to be the same as the six-seater Hector Plus, including a 1.5L turbo petrol with 143hp on tap, offered with or without a mild-hybrid unit and a 2.0L diesel mill producing 170hp. Both engines come mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, though the non-hybrid petrol version can also be had with a six-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT).
The is no shortagel of features and equipment in general, on MG cars. We expect the seven-seat SUV to be offered with all the gizmos we saw in its six-seater version. This includes, a 10.4 inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, MG’s in-car connectivity tech, a panoramic sunroof, Infinity audio system, ambient lighting, power assisted front seats, parking sensors at the front and rear and 360-degree surround camera.
The seven-seat Hector Plus will be priced a notch above the six-seat version which now retails at INR 13.74 to 19.69 lakh. Once launched, the SUV will compete with the like of Mahindra XUV 500 as of now, and later the Tata Gravitas might as well show up to lock its horns.
The Chinese-owned British brand has also announced that it would hike the prices across its Indian portfolio in Jan 2021 and further sues the recent increase in the miscellaneous costs for the same.
