These prices are introductory though…
Mahindra has launched the Scorpio Classic with attractive introductory prices. The SUV is available in two variants- S and S11, and the former is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-sh) and the latter 15.49 lakh (ex-sh). These being introductory prices could possibly indicate slight upward revisions in prices after the initial lots get sold out. In Mahindra portfolio, the Scorpio Classic sits comfortably below the new Scorpio N.
Variant | Ex-showroom Price (Introductory) |
Scorpio Classic S | 11.99 lakh |
Scorpio Classic S11 | 15.49 lakh |
The introductory prices would stay valid for a limited time span alone. A decent hike is expected afterward, and we presume the prices would then be raised to 13.68 lakh for the S and 18.81 lakh for the S11.
Mahindra Scorpio Classic: What Is It?
The Scorpio Classic is essentially a slightly revamped and rebadged version of the OG Scorpio that was on sale here previously. The changes include cosmetic upgrades, cabin experience overhauls and an engine transplant. We have listed and detailed all the changes on the new Scorpio Classic in our first look story.
On the mechanical front, the SUV now gets Mahindra’s generation 2.2L mHawk engine, with better performance and fuel efficiency. This engine is 55 kilos lighter than before, produces 130 hp and 300 Nm, and comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission alone. There is no 4WD on offer on the new SUV.
There are three seating layouts available on the new Scorpio Classic. The S variant can be had as a 9-seater and a 7-seater, at present. However, Mahindra might axe the 9-seater in the time ahead, to maintain their safety standards. The 7-seater layout further offers the choice of 2+2+3 and 2+3+2 configurations.
