Mercedes Benz EQA Launched In India

The EQA now looks more like the EQB

In 2023, Mercedes-Benz updated the EQA crossover, by adding new looks, features, and improvements similar to those on the bigger EQB. The updated EQA now includes design details closer to other Mercedes electric cars, such as the distinctive star pattern on the front grille, noticeable horizontal light bar, sleek bumpers, and a 3D lighting signature.

Mercedes Benz India has now launched the EQA EV in the country priced at Rs 66 lakh, ex-showroom. The deliveries will begin in January 2025. MB’s electric vehicle portfolio now consists of EQA, EQB, EQE, and EQS. The key rivals to the EQA here include Volvo XC40 Recharge and BMW iX1.

The EQA’s cabin now gets a new three-spoke steering wheel with capacitive controls, new interior trims, illuminated Mercedes logos on doors, and twin 10-inch screens with updated MBUX. These screens also offer personalization options and a cleaner interface. Mercedes EQA also gets improved voice recognition.

The Indian-spec EQA is claimed to be more efficient than the global model- thanks to the improved aero, rolling-resistance tyres, and a new range-extender mode. This mode deactivates non-essential features and functions- like air-con and displays.

The Indian spec Mercedes EQA gets a 70.5 kWh battery pack and a WLTP range of 560 km (on the EQA 250+). This variant comes with a front axle electric motor producing 188 hp and 385 Nm. The EQA 300 4Matic, and EQA 350 4Matic sold globally come with smaller battery packs.

Mercedes Benz EQA supports charging speeds of up to 100 kW and does the 0-100 kph sprint in 8.6 seconds. 10-80% charging is done in 35 minutes over a fast charger.
