MG Motor Seems Highly Confident Of The Indian Market, To Bring In A Sedan And A Luxury SUV Soon !

The MG sedan will be based on the Baojun RC 6 and the SUV will be the Maxus D90

MG seems extremely enthusiastic about the Indian market as it intends to exhibit a SUV and sedan- the MAXUS D90 SUV and a new sedan based on the Baojun RC-6 at the auto expo 2020.

Maxus D90, the new 7-seater SUV, assembled on a light truck platform measures 5005mm in length, 1932mm in width, 1875mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,950mm, which seems to be considerably bigger than its closest rivals.

As far as deciphered from the teaser image the Indian spec- D90 comes with more of chrome bits on the characteristic MG grille, window line and doors and a peculiar alloy wheel design along with adaptive LED headlights, LED DRLs, panoramic sunroof, heated wing mirrors, gesture-controlled tailgate. An 8.0-inch multi-info instrument cluster display,12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, leather upholstery, powered front seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions are the other anticipated features.

MG MAXUS D90 is equipped with a  2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine to give out 224bhp of power and 360Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 6-speed transmission both manual automatic, globally and a diesel powertrain is also expected for the Indian version.

The MAXUS D90 is expected to hit the Indian market by February 2020.

And for the new MG Sedan which is apparently based on the Baojun RC-6, comes as a blend of a Coupé, sedan and a crossover.
The vehicle with a three-box layout features a perfectly streamlined roof resembling a Coupé and approximately 180 mm ground clearance which is enhanced by the darkened running boards between the front and rear wheels and the rear valance. A large wraparound grille accompanied by a large nose and flat clamshell bonnet along with fighter-jet-like faux intakes surrounding the fog lights and attractive rear fascia add charm to the design. A neatly designed spacious cabin packed with plenty of tech and comfort features is also awaited.

The new MG sedan will be equipped with the Hector’s 1.5L turbo petrol engine that churns off 143bhp and 245Nm torque. A diesel powertrain might also be offered for the Indian market. Two gearbox options – a 6-speed manual and a virtual 8-speed CVT as available in the global version, might also be incorporated.

The MG sedan car price in India is expected to be on par with the Honda Civic and is hoped to hit the roads by mid-2021!
