5-Step Qubo Dashcam Pro 4K Installation Guide For Beginners

Here’s a step-by-step guide to installing your new Qubo dashcam Pro 4k dual camera unit…

From preventing fraudulent insurance claims to ensuring road safety, dash cameras have a great role to play in modern-day motoring, and the same is making them popular these days. Qubo Dashcam Pro 4K is a popular choice among buyers. The Qubo dual camera kit, like its rivals, has a handful of quirky parts and mounts alongside the camera units, hinting at a probably complicated installation.

Getting this dashboard camera installed is something you can easily get done by a technician at a garage, should you wish so. In most cases, however, installing it yourself is fun and saves you a sum in labour. This step-by-step guide will walk you through the process.

Step 1: Choose The Perfect Spot To Mount The Camera

The first step is to find the ideal spot to mount your camera on the windshield. It is advised to set it up near the rearview mirror, so that you get a clean view of the road ahead. Before mounting the camera, make sure you clean the windshield thoroughly. This would allow the suction mount’s vacuum cup to stick properly to it. Attach the dash camera’s head unit to the suction mount.

Step 2: How To Do The Wiring?

The dash camera has two power cables that need to be installed properly into the car. Qubo Dashcam Pro 4K does not have an inbuilt battery pack or power unit. The rear camera here draws its power from the head unit. The head unit can be connected to the vehicle’s power unit through the 12V socket. The adapter that’s included in the package offers two different points- 1A and 2A.

The two power cables- for the main and rear units- need to be run through the vehicle’s interior lining carefully. The wires need to be concealed within the roof and window liners. You can do this easily, All you need is a bit of patience. Qubo even provides a pry tool for further easing up the tug-in process.

The head unit’s power cable is 3.5m long while the rear one is 8 meters in length. These would comfortably fit in most vehicles. Having a vehicle that offers a built-in dash camera power-point, like the MG Astor for Instance, would greatly simplify the installation process. All you need to do here is to connect the head camera unit to the port using a short USB cable that you could easily buy on Amazon.

Step 3: Connecting The Rear Camera

Clean the rear windshield. Remove the protective film and stick the electrostatic sticker on the glass surface. The rear camera is to be mounted on this sticker using its double-sided tape. The rear camera unit can be adjusted to ensure proper view and visibility.

Step 4: Plug-in The Power Cables

Now that both the camera units are mounted and wires installed correctly, plug in both cameras. Plug the front unit’s power cable into the 12V socket using the adapter. The rear camera’s power cable needs to be connected to the head unit.
