The Renault Triber was co-developed by the India and France teams of the carmaker and has been going great numbers in sale since the market debut…
Renault India has used the occasion of Auto Expo 2020 to showcase the EASY-R automatic variant of their entry-level MPV, the Triber. The AMT automatic-equipped vehicle will have its official market launch sometime in the first half of this year.
The Renault Triber, an enticing sub 4 metre MPV from the French manufacturer, was launched sometime last year. It has been selling good numbers ever since and the figures have long crossed the 28000 units mark in India. The Triber is manufactured in India and is exported to various global markets as well.
Co-developed by the Renault teams of France and India, the Triber is powered by a 1.0L 3 cylinder petrol engine putting out 72PS and 96 Nm. But what the Triber lacked was an automatic transmission, as there was just a 5-speed manual box available then. We had been told at the launch by the officials that an AMT version would soon follow. Renault has wisely chosen the Delhi Auto Expo 2020 for the reveal of the Triber AMT, as the vehicle with the EASY-R badging and Renault Captur like contrast roof, managed to turn many heads here.
Talking about the AMT on offer, it is similar to the one found on other Renault cars like the Kwid. The EASY-R gearbox offers a Traffic Assist function that lets you navigate in tight traffic conditions with ease. It also strikes a perfect balance between performance and fuel efficiency. We expect the automatic Triber to have competitive pricing upon launch as well.
“With Renault TRIBER, our commitment was to launch a car that would redefine the conventional notions of the Indian automotive industry. Renault TRIBER has changed the rules in terms of space and modularity, targeted at a wide set of customers across segments, led by the B-segment. It also gave us the opportunity to be present in the largest and the fastest growing segment of the Indian automobile market. It is very motivating to see the outstanding response from customers and today we will take another step forward in the TRIBER journey with the reveal of the Renault TRIBER EASY-R AMT,” said Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO & Managing Director, Renault India Operations.
