Skoda Vision IN SUV (Kushaq) Previewed In Official Sketches, Launch On March 18

The renders suggest minimum deviation from the concept in terms of design!

We have all been waiting for the India-spec SUV from Skoda for quite some time now. Skoda had earlier showcased the prototype at the Auto Expo, calling it the Vision IN concept back then. Not long ago had we also told you about the carmaker naming the production guise of Vision IN SUV the Kushaq. Skoda has been testing the vehicle vigorously all the while but with heavy camouflages on the mules and thus has been doing a great job in keeping its design an absolute surprise. Now, as the launch date nears, Skoda India has let out a few official design sketches of the upcoming Skoda Kushaq to tease us with the SUV’s thrilling design.

Going by the design sketches, Skoda Kushaq will have minimal design deviations from the Vision IN concept. The edgy two-part headlights and the iconic Skoda grille do a great deal in rendering the car a shape characteristic of modern-day Skodas. The sculpted front bumper adds further to the SUV-air in the overall design. The vehicle seems to have an imposing and athletic stance altogether.

The design sketch of the rear seems as promising as that of the front fascia. One would be greatly impressed by the stylish roof spoiler and the prominent diffuser pumping the aesthetic quotient of the rear. The tail lamps boast of Skoda’s characteristic crystalline structure and seem to have good detailing inside.

Skoda Vision In SUV or the Kushaq as it is called, is essentially the first Skoda to be produced under the Volkswagen Group’s India 2.0 project. It is built on a heavily localised version of VW Group’s volume based MQB platform. The India-spec architecture goes by the name MQB A0 IN and is retains the same Modular transverse toolkit structure as its global counterpart even while having accomodated high degrees (as much as 95%) of localisation. However, as per the sources, the localisation does not come at the cost of safety or emission as these products are known to adhere to all the safety and emission norms of our country.

Skoda is expected to launch the Kushaq on March 18, 2021. Also, more products based on the MQB A0 India platform are expected to join the Kushaq in the near future. As we wait for the debut, here is a film depicting the story behind the name.
