Toyota Fortuner Legender Launch On January 6 2021

The Toyota Fortuner Legender will further up the competition in the SUV space

The new facelifted Toyota Fortuner will be launched in India on January 6, 2021. The SUV was earlier launched internationally with a modicum of interior and exterior upgrades. Also, a couple of spy shots of it being shot for the TVC had also surfaced recently.

The 2021 Fortuner gets a redesigned front fascia with a larger mesh grille, rather fresh looking LED headlights with DRLs, reworked front bumper and a new-fangled set of 18 inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV gets new, slender taillights. Apart from this handful of upgrades, the new Fortuner stays the same as the outgoing model.

Hopping inside, the cabin layout and overall styling continue to be the same. However, the 2021 model gets some necessary upgrades including an 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 8-way adjustable driver and co-driver’s seats, wireless charging pad for smartphones, ambient lighting, 9-speaker JBL audio system and 360-degree surround camera.

The new Fortuner will be powered by the same 2.8L four-cylinder turbocharged diesel mill churning out 177hp and 450Nm of torque (420Nm with the manual box), or may be 204hp and 500Nm state of tune, as in the international markets. (If only Toyota is generous enough!) The company will also continue to offer the 2.7L four-cylinder petrol engine with 166 hp and 245 Nm on tap.

The new Fortuner will be priced way above the current model which currently retails in the range of Rs. 28.66-34.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It will continue to contend against the Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4, and MG Gloster in India.
