On November 21, 2022, the Japanese auto giant held the Innova Hycross’ international debut in Indonesia, and the premium MPV was unveiled in India four days later. The Innova Hycross, which comes in seven- and eight-seater configurations, is built on the new-age, versatile TNGA-C platform.
The third-generation Innova changes to the traditional front-wheel drive system as opposed to the RWD configuration in models till the Crysta. It is 100 mm longer in wheelbase and the bigger proportions translate to a roomier cabin. The MPV now gets a taller, SUV-like stance and upright proportions.
A prominent front grille, chrome accents, angular LED headlights, muscular bumpers, freshly designed alloy wheels in various sizes, wrap-around tail lamps, chiselled cuts and creases on the bonnet and sides, a powered tailgate, etc are some of the visual highlights. A large floating touchscreen infotainment system and a layered dashboard make for the changes inside.
A dual-pane panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, a large MID ( Multi Information Display), multiple airbags, middle-row captain chairs with an Ottoman function, powered seats with ventilated functions, adjustable headrests, a cooled glovebox, and numerous deep storage spaces are some of the major features inside the Hycross.
Toyota also installs the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 package of ADAS, which includes lane departure warning, auto high beam assist, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, in the new Hycross. It has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder NA gasoline engine which puts out 172.992 HP and 209 Nm of torque and a powerful 2.0-liter four-cylinder hybrid gasoline engine producing 183.7 HP and 188 Nm. While the latter is mated exclusively with an e-CVT, the former is paired with a CVT.
