Vayve Mobility Presents India’s First Solar Car EVA At Auto Expo

Vayve EVA is more or less a two-seater

Pune-based electric vehicle startup Vayve Mobility has presented India’s very first solar car prototype at the ongoing 2023 Auto Expo. The Vayve Eva is the first small electric smart car in India that’s integrated with solar panels and an electric plug-in for charging. This tiny EV is underpinned by the same monocoque chassis as the Tata Nano, and is targeted at the affordable end of the EV spectrum.

It can comfortably seat 2 adults and a child, and is designed to enable consumers to commute through the traffic with ease. It is similar to the Reva that we had back in the day.

It has a 6 kW liquid-cooled PMSM electric motor which is good for 16 HP and 40Nm. It draws power from a 14 kWh battery pack that features Active Liquid Cool Technology and offers a range of 250km on a single charge. It has a 15A socket and takes about 4 hours to charge the battery up to 80 percentage. The Eva packs an IP68-certified powertrain.

The front suspension duties are handled by a Macpherson Strut with Coil Spring, while the rear suspension duties are taken care of by dual shock absorbers. The Eva has disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The connected cockpit also offers features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Vayve Mobility could launch Eva by 2024.
